Is this the EU's version of the Shahed drones? or is it something different?

Super interesting charts there. What's really interesting to me is that the GPU prices (which also includes RAM) didn't see such a massive increase in price as the RAM itself. Anyone know why that is?

This is exactly right. The problem is the friction that this kind of system adds. Even so, I implemented this and I wrote about it here: https://blog.picheta.me/post/the-future-of-social-media-is-h...

I agree. I think that ultimately it will be governments providing services to attest humanity. They already do to a certain extent via passports. I built a little human verifier using those at https://onlyhumanhub.com

I think that we are going to see more and more of this. To the point where most interactions you have online will likely be with bots. So I started building something that actually has a chance of fixing it: a social network for only humans

I’m really curious how this will go. I have a suspicion that we will see more and more accounts all over the internet being controlled by AI agents and no amount of moderation will be able to stop it.

My prediction is that nothing short of human verification is going to solve this.

This is really cool, I wonder if it would be doable in other countries? In particular UK?

As many are saying, yes, this can easily be AI generated. I am actually trying to build ways to prove you are human properly. I wrote about it on my blog: https://blog.picheta.me/post/the-future-of-social-media-is-h...

It's funny how seemingly easy it is to tell articles like this have that AI generated whiff to them. The first bit that raised my suspicion was the "The Identity Crisis Nobody Talks About" headline. This "The x nobody ta

I think that it is a technical issue to a certain extent. Governments could make it very easy to prove humanity (and age) in a secure manner that doesn't leak your personal details to the third party that wants to perform the verificat

It adds enough of a barrier to be worth it. In the way I have implemented it, you can only have one account per ID (for example passport). Yes, you can buy fake passports, but it's prohibitively expensive. Read my blog post for more in

This kind of solution couldn't come soon enough. It will also enable us to verify humanity and have bot-free spaces on social media again. I wrote about this here: https://blog.picheta.me/post/the-future-of-social-

That's really awesome. I hope that soon we will also have humanity verification without sacrificing our anonymity. With LLMs and paid actors wreaking havoc on social media I do think that social media needs pivot towards allowing only

Child safety is just the tip of the iceberg. We need to secure ourselves by implementing human verification and there are ways to do this without sacrificing anonymity[1]. 1 - https://blog.picheta.me/post/the-future-of-

I don't see why third parties should do this. You already trust governments to keep data on you safe (you're forced to unfortunately) so they should provide an API, to let people prove their age/humanity without sharing any i

You're assuming that 1.0 will bring about stability. For all we know version 1.0 could make way for version 2.0 soon after. Though perhaps the Zig developers have promised this will not happen.
