I don't know what it is but the hype around Wordle has actually made me not want to give it a try. Is there a word to describe someone that gets discouraged from trying things that feel "mainstream"?

Really awesome to see Jester/HttpBeast being used in the wild! CxPlanner looks really cool, nice job :)

I don't understand why anyone would sign up for services that have an unknown future cost. This is exactly why I avoid Amazon's S3 and prefer something like Digital Ocean (or Hetzner). I would much rather have my service shut down

I feel this but from a different perspective. As somebody that comes from a working class background, I cannot help but feel like taking any pay cut is a mistake in my life. It’s not that I consume a top 5% salary, it’s that I feel like any

Also curious about this. I’ve done a lot of research on CE/FCC and while it seems possible to do CE yourself (since you can self-certify) you are on the hook if you miss something, like certain required tests (and doing some tests can

Really awesome. I’m working on a hardware project myself, nice to see a success story. I’m curious about the enclosure, do you cut it out of wood yourself or are you using a supplier for it that cuts it/glues it for you?

Isn’t this a prime opportunity for disruption? These kinds of stories seem to crop up now and then. Is it inevitable that a startup will offer a service for creating custom solution for such repetitive manual tasks at a fraction of the pric

This is quite interesting. Is `syn` just an interface to the Rust compiler's Rust parser or is it a completely separate implementation of the parser that works at compile-time? Hopefully it's not the latter but then I wonder where

I can't help but feel like it doesn't even matter if NFTs (and cryptocurrencies) are a scam. At this point just the mere fact that you can provably show some NFT was sold for millions is enough, some people entering these scams wi

It works, just as it does for C. Although I'd say it depends what you want it for, Nim already supports being translated to JS natively.

That's the assumption, but that doesn't mean it's the case. Certainly bounds checks are impossible to prove at compile-time.

That's not the reasoning though. Not allowing macros to change the syntax gives Nim programmers an anchor and reduces friction from needing to learn brand new syntax rules for any big DSLs.

I'm sure Rust also has a way to disable bounds/overflow checks for speed. Do benchmarks utilise it?

There are plenty of cases in Python and similar languages where it's not clear where a method is defined, consider `myClassInstance.myMethod`, how do you find its definition? You do not immediately know which class it belongs to, nor w
