Agreed. At this rate isn't it just a matter of time before AI can easily get past CAPTCHAs? At which point someone will make the decision to start creating "organic" content advertising their product by getting an AI to write

afaik the best approach seems to be to join a US-based company in the UK then ask them nicely to apply for a visa for you after a year. Then you're in the H1-B lottery.

Pyodide can do so too, though through an emscripten interface. I managed to get it running on Cloudflare Workers as a POC[0] (though I should add a disclaimer that I work at Cloudflare) 0 - https://github.com/dom96/pycl

I'm getting a sense like something is not right at GitHub, maybe it's just a coincidence but just in the last week I saw GitHub breaking their CI (causing many runs to fail due to a billing bug), then the checksum tarball issue an

There seems to be so many different variants of the same thing out there. What makes this unique? For example I know Pyodide exists and also runs CPython under WASM.

Interesting to see so many languages implemented in Zig pop up suddenly.

It's really difficult to understand the scorecards in this article. What's the difference between "Behind in 2019 and falling" and "Ahead in 2019 but falling"? Are there any explanations of these that I missed?

This is uniquely a US-style thing, but even now in the UK I am noticing more and more restaurants adding a 12.5% service charge. Definitely not a great trend.

Really love this blue case. Makes me really sad that PC case makers don't really create nice non-tower PC cases anymore. There will come a time when the desk top orientation comes back and I can't wait.

I'm actively working on two projects currently making $0 (and I don't necessarily mind): Mastodon Chirper - A browser extension which injects Mastodon posts into your Twitter timeline. Great way to transition to Mastodon without l

I'd really love to read about how this was put together. Does anyone have any ideas about the high-level steps?

Nice, but I'll be honest the page looks a bit drab to me. Could just be me, but I figure folks here would like feedback so I hope this helps. In general I think for a page that is promoting badges you need an appealing aesthetic.

I created a browser extension to help transition to Mastodon[0]. If you are curious about Mastodon but don't yet feel like you can leave twitter.com then it's a great way to get started. Essentially it injects Mastodon posts into

As a fellow Londoner, thank you! I just gave it a try, it was very relaxing and responsive. One thing I would suggest, and I know it's a bit of a balancing act, but it's what always irritates me about breathing exercise apps. When

Depends on the project. But in general: * Old School VPS or Cloudflare Workers (if the problem lends itself well to Workers) * Usually leaning towards sqlite instead of a hosted postgres (as that's often overkill) * Language: whatever

Another annoyance of the Chrome Web Store: you cannot publish a new version if another version is still pending publication. Ran into that once which meant an even greater time stuck waiting for the latest version to be published...

Really cool. It seems there are many such extensions for enhancing Twitter and other websites. I wonder if there are any `awesome-x`-style repos that list all such browser extensions. I myself developed an extension for integrating Mastodon

Honestly just the stuff on this list makes it seem like being rich isn't that appealing. A lot of the things there are pretty small quality of life improvements over what ordinary people can already access.
