It's fair to be clueless, but not even googling a name before deciding to use it for your project is foolish.

> Expect to pay something around $2,500 to $5,000 Yeah, that's what's discouraging. For something that is effectively a hobby project, spending many thousands of dollars is too much of a risk, when you're not even sure peo

Sadly I am in the UK. I guess I could certify it with the FCC anyway, but my aim was to sell locally initially.

That's a nice idea. I can think of at least one person that this would be useful for (Elon Musk, 2023).

If you come from a privileged background then what are you risking really? Maxed out credit cards can easily be repaid by your rich parents/uncles/whatever. Though perhaps there are things they risked that I am not familiar with.

Same. My guess is that they no longer use D, seeing as the person doing those talks no longer works there and other big places like Facebook have ceased using it. But I'd love to be proven wrong!

Impressive. Even my CSS-based obfuscation[1] is no match for ChatGPT. Though it is funny trying to get it to explain how it was able to deobfuscate the email address. It works only if I give it the full HTML of my website and I think it is

The UK government website team is great which makes it all the more painful that they are not making public service websites like NHS websites better. I recently moved and had to switch GPs: every GP website is different, every GP uses a di

There are still some small amounts of opportunities that can allow you to come from a poor background and become well off. I'm mainly thinking of tech jobs that pay well, but yes even with those there is a lot of luck involved. I'

Thanks for the kind words! I'm using Tailwind + React + recharts. The design itself is pretty custom and doesn't use anything off-the-shelf. I basically use Tailwind like a different syntax for CSS.
