I think using the word private is a bit misleading. Ground water is shared among all the well users in the area/water shed. If drank only collected rain water then it would be private. Except for the pollutants picked up from the air.

Why not make leap seconds only apply to Stratum 0 devices. Everything else will just correct themselves as if they had drifted. Shouldn't there already be procedures in place for drift?

Well you do have the shipping issue in the US. You wouldn't be able to ship those phones by themselves (without it being a very large box) much less multiple phones in one shipment.

Great proof of concept. I think it would also be interesting to have a version that uses public keys instead of/in addition to the checksum for people to publish content that they can edit and it be signed.
