I did kind of make the assumption that you'd have a code editor that has some form of paren highlighting, at least, though I've never actually found this to be a bigger problem in Lisp than other languages.

Maybe you don't need to spin at all because reducing air pressure would allow evaporating all the water at low enough temperatures?

I think you can use whatever to do Lisp. I'd start with something simple like Scheme, and definitely by watching and doing the SICP lecture recordings from now 34 (!) years ago: https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electric

Is there a way to get Windows to behave better? I was sorely disappointed by how things look in HDR mode, especially the fact that gamut seems to be abysmal compared to the same display in SDR mode, not even considering the terrible black l

I, too, am on 2014 hardware. The real step that would move me to update would be more RAM with the Apple Silicon. The last gen Intel hardware did offer 32GB of RAM, but not much else to justify the cost over a 6 year old precursor.

I'd second that, Elixir does away with the sometimes vexing comma and dot syntax used for scoping. Also, it does have mutable variables. You do have to get to grips with pattern matching and processes as objects being such core concept

The CoreMediaIO DAL plugin path is very fraught because of GateKeeper/SIP mechanism all trying to stop 3rd party code from being loaded into apps. The macOS kernel does have, in theory, the possibility to create a .kext that emulates a

I do use a D800 with a 50/F1.4 lens for video conf calls. A lot of the current generation DSLRs do provide XGA, 1024x768 sized preview images when tethered, as, surprise surprise, that is the resolution of their viewfinder/screen.

FaceTime, Safari, and on Big Sur, apparently even QuickTime Player can no longer use 3rd party CoreMediaIO DAL plugins due to codesigning/sandboxing/SIP issuess. The short of it is that generally within the SIP (system integrity p

Those observations resonate with me. This does sound a lot like the now almost ancient dream of Prolog/Smalltalk where you'd have this much more semantic and malleable environment to work with and shape to the specific purpose it

I do find this mildly amusing – and sad – as git is possibly one of the worst SCMs for non-programmers because its command set is so bottom-up, and therefore doesn't align with a naive mental model of how version control should work,

I'm a big fan of Fossil, but I've sadly not used it in a while for new projects, as when stuff has to go on gitlab or github it is just too inconvenient. Even though one-way pushes to github/gitlab via --fast-export / --

IMO, the problem with Arduino in production is not necessarily one of quality, but the fact that is geared towards getting the first prototype up and running as fast as possible, but is difficult to use for production where eg. real-time an

That is interesting. It might be a semantic difference between actually recording a movie stream via PTP, vs. using Live View, which is what I am doing. Libgphoto2 seems to support both, but I haven't tried the former, as the setup see
