I realize it's a flawed analogy, but the thing about learning emacs is that it isn't learning a single tool. It's learning the toolbox you can use to build the wood shop. The toolbox that keeps getting bigger and bigger. It's been years sin

I've always found Dell to have decent hardware at a reasonable price. They also have an N series which comes with FreeDOS so you don't have to pay the extra MS tax.

I found number 1 to be slightly inaccurate. I think it would be better as "What moron wrote this garbage?! That's it! I'm gonna go find out who wrote this and give th... Oh. That was me. Crap."

> If they were doing it right, they wouldn't need the extra hours. is the part I don't agree with. Sorry, didn't make that clear. Doing It Right (tm) has little, in my experience, with the volume of work that exists.

I don't know that I agree. StackOverflow become popular by being the Anti-ExpertsExchange. The elevator pitch was literally "Experts Exchange with out the evil" and they seem to be doing quite well.

I've been seriously considering moving my domain from GoDaddy. For me though price isn't really an issue. In fact, because I have a .me domain it will end up being about 20 bucks a year no mater where I go.

I've noticed people often get bogged down on the issue of "beautiful" code in focusing on the syntax of the language. But that's only a tiny fraction of what makes code beautiful. The true beauty is in the underlying algorithm or idea that
