The crazy thing is that it will be very hard to find a decent 1 bedroom for even that price, realistically you are looking at $3.5k to $4k.

I know quite a bit of conspiracy nuts and I'm sure that some of the stuff they talk about may one day be revealed as true, but that doesn't mean that I will listen to 99% of their bullshit for 1% of potential truth. Throw enough m

Putting any time constraints on a dev test is a bad idea in my opinion. It's not that I can't finish the test in the allotted time, but knowing that I am being timed will make my brain race and do stupid things. Personally, I don&

I see people always saying this online, but the vast majority of engineers I talk to in-person work very sane hours (9-5, 10-6) and never take their work home with them.

I completely disagree. I think the web has improved in almost every way. Sure, there are shitty content sites whose main goal is to get ad clicks, but those have been around for a long time and the ads have actually become less obnoxious th

In my life I've experienced 2 burglaries, 3 vehicle vandalisms, and one time I was seriously assaulted in a beach town by 10 guys with a gun. In every one of those experiences, the police were unprofessional and completely useless. I w

My experience has been the exact opposite. I'm not a heavy user, but I've stayed at an airbnb at least 5 times now and each one of those stays were significantly cheaper than a comparable hotel, but with a way better experience in

Problem with the Leaf is that a 75 mile range is unusable for most people. A 30 mile commute is pretty common, to and from work and you're almost out. Pick up kids and groceries and you'll probably be stuck on the side of the road

That is pretty much where every frontend dev starts out and then quickly realizes that as your codebase grows and you have different types of data and events firing back and forth, things get unwieldy fast. I'm sure you think your 4k l

You can't just pull a quote like that out of context. Chappelle said the "gay sex is gross" thing twice, once was in the black bush character ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoDpghAaXT4 ) and the other was wh

The problem I see with companies providing an API on top of their service is that their core business comes first, API second. So if someone were to use their API to build something that takes traffic from their core business, they will shu

I am very hesitant to build anything on a free API like this nowadays, after seeing what happened to the Twitter API, and more recently, the Soundcloud API. I don't feel comfortable building an app using their API, and then having them

I don't doubt that you can hear gunshots in the rough parts of Oakland or LA, but this idea that people in the US are constantly in fear of getting shot is just so ridiculous.
