The reason that it's lying is that natural immunity does provide decent protection. You're so focused on incentives in the small that you forgot about incentives in the large -- this type of bs is exactly why people feel entitled

Thinking through the particulars in my case: How do I charge if I only have street parking? Can I rely on superchargers only? What's the price of those vs charging at home vs gas? Will I destroy my battery over time if I do that? Am I

Ah yes, the notion that the white race holds the same vaunted position that Ferrari does among car makes -- held by racists and anti-racists alike.

My observations are not racist, or rooted in fear. They are, however, rooted in compassion for my fellow human beings who find themselves in the crosshairs of reactionary political ideologies, even if they wear labels like "progressive

Can you hear yourself though? Can you put yourself in the shoes of a young white man? They are recipients of this message on a regular basis. When many of them end up having a difficult time despite being told how easy they have it, and how

If those resources are not needed for other things, then the cost "in terms of resource use" doesn't matter. E.g. cattle producing areas could be used to produce a lot of crop x instead, but if there's already plenty of

I thought it was well known that corruption is a bigger problem in developing nations which are likely to be considerably less capitalistic than first world nations?

I have to say this seems utterly un-noteworthy. "Person whose content was free now reaching a smaller audience now that their content is behind a paywall".

This might be unpopular in these parts, but... just don't do anything and actively choose not to care about things like telemetry which have no tangible effect on my experience.

I find this whole article so bizarre because it never contends with the definition of "engineer" that's always made the most intuitive sense to me, which is as the person label behind the practice half of the theory/prac

A real stylist can do that, but very well may not. The question is not whether an algorithm/AI can beat stylists at the 90th percentile of how great they are, it's whether it can beat stylists at the 50th percentile.

Intuition could be said to be the opposite of reason, but not rationality. There are whole parts of the rationalist diaspora that emphasize how important it is to be in touch with one's intuitions / feelings and to integrate them
