That seems like another symptom of the same problem. Apple locked me into their ecosystem...but that is their right, after all it is their platform. Apple sold me faulty hardware/software but I have to buy more Apple products (new hard

You have to start somewhere, the easiest way is to ban new sales as that is what you can enforce without too much expense (both financial and political). Then as old machines slowly fail, most people will buy new electric ones. And if there

I think you got it backwards. The main reason is to exclude 3rd party repairs and extra security is a side effect that can be used as justification. Follow the money.

Apple silicon has been in Apple phones for many years. Worldwide iPhone market share has not increased and it has not beaten the competition. Desktop users will be even harder to convert due to more legacy software and bigger OS differences

I am not so sure about that...maybe you don't run updates in the background but some of the distros do and there are random strange problems until you reboot. Windows is definitely worse at that but Linux is not 100% safe either. Also

Interestingly I have the exact opposite experience. Apt has never failed for me in the last 15 years but pacman fails all the time in both Arch derivatives and specially in MSYS2. With pacman you HAVE to keep updating at least weekly. MSYS2

Facebook MAY sell your info for profit. But Apple never will. Google MAY use you info for profit but Apple never will. Apple removed all competition so they can charge me 5x the price and they will NEVER sell my info to profit, NEVER.

Your wording shows lack of understanding of GNU/Linux history since Linux is the kernel and all the distros just build around it. But even bigger tragedy is thinking that this is awesome. We had an amazing kernel/os called BeOS th

Windows 7 version of paint on the other hand is better than most paint like applications on Linux so if they made that version cross platform then we could finally have a decent simple paint program everywhere.

Well, to be honest, I would expect a = a + b and a += b to behave exactly the same regardless of the type they operate on. Most people use += as a shorthand for the longer version so having them behave differently is dangerous.
