There’s a throwaway line about not being able to empirically test the business strategy model as applied to Intel, but that’s kind of a key point. Ohm’s Law can be empirically validated, so we know we’re not vastly oversimplifying in modeli

No, remedies are meant to be tailored to the specific wrongs found in a specific case. There are precedents for things like, “that amount of money is too much,” or “this equitable remedy requires these kinds of findings,” but there’s no 1:1

And, now that there is a circuit split, this is squarely teed up for the Supreme Court, and there’s really no telling how they’ll come out.

Hm, the book is about Taylorism from 1945 on it seems, but it’s Stephen Waring, Taylorism Transformed: Scientific Management Theory since 1945. Looks like it was published by UNC Press 1991. I do remember conversations with him to the eff

This is in the story: * It will also take time for NASA and Boeing to update parameters in Starliner's flight software to enable an unpiloted undocking and reentry.* It’s apparently a file called the “Mission Data Load” (MDL).

Yes, and in the story it talks about how that updating is what would cause the longest delays in getting Starliner off ISS if they go that route. So yes, it’s possible.

Yes, Andor is far and away the best SW content produced in recent years. What I really want to see is what happens with Daedra Meero. She’s such an interesting character. She says at one point that the Empire’s cracking down and sharp autho

I’m pretty sure this has become an argumentative move bordering on fallacy: “That thing you’re criticizing is no true Agile.” See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman

Make software warrantable. If you sell software that purports to do X, you are at least implicitly warranting it is fit for purpose, etc. Allowing companies to disclaim all warranties means they have no incentive to make sure their software

Taylorism was bullshit in its original form too. I had a history professor in graduate school whose PhD/book was about this. I can try to find it if you’re interested.
