Org mode is really good for note taking, so emacs has uses even if one does not use it for programming.

Popularity means more users and more contributors. I guess most of the core emacs devs are greybeards who started programming in the 80s or earlier, so what happens when they grow too old? Who will replace them?

I have doubts about this. Maybe they did some simple variable settings, but I doubt they wrote proper lisp programs.

I meant that the C code in emacs stays as is. And if it calls to the elisp part then those calls should be replaced of course with calls to the JVM via JNI.

Yes, it's useful. It's even better if you can search your commands with out of order matching (multiple words in any order). I do this from Emacs (you can use Helm or Ivy, for example) and it's extremely convenient and effect

The point is searching multiple terms any order in a note. With org-rifle I don't have to think about the number of context lines or anything and I just type the terms and it finds the notes which have all of those.

Thanks. I was curious why org-rifle is not sufficient for search, but you just describe searching by tags which org-rifle can also do, or searching within a tag.
