Why can't you run an Emacs with Magit alongside Vscode? You don't have to miss it, you can still use emacs for that.

There should be some tool to make such nice animations easily. Not just gears, but any other illustrations with moving parts with the ability to have a zoomed in detail beside the animation, etc.

Then the answer is: current math cannot solve this question. Answer can be lots of things, it's easy to avoid actually answering the question.

I bound this to the Insert key which is otherwise useless, so I have a single key which activates this. I use it all the time.

shortcatapp looks nice. I wonder if something like this exists for Windows. It might even be more efficient if it worked like Vimium in the browser, labelling all items with a single letter which you can press to select it.

There should be a different key for that then. The click action is the most important, so it should have its own dedicated key.

It's strange that you have to press enter too after selecting a link to go there. The most frequent task of browsing is clicking on links, so it should be only f + hint, without any additional keys.

Maybe it could be worth it to buy a proper external camera for this purpose if one has a desktop or uses one's laptop most of the time stationary. I searched for it and apparently Windows 10, for example, has optional eye tracking cont

For link selection the quickest way could be eye tracking, that is your laptop's camera would track your eye and you could press some key to go to the link which you are looking at. Is there some application which does this?

Sort of like the Gnu Emacs / XEmacs split back then which divided the contributors. At least in case of Emacs one of these came on top, so there is no split anymore.
