Okay, but most people don't know about that, so it's an effective punishment for them if they don't agree to tracking.

Interesting handling of the GDPR that the user gets a barebones page if he does not agree to tracking. The user gets the content, but the GDPR does not say he has to get the same pretty formatting. B)

> So Facebook's lawyers can say, "It's in our legitimate interest to maximise advertising revenue". They can say it is their interest to have enough revenue to operate the site and some (how much?) profit above that.

If people force the issue then I expect big sites will give you this option. But it won't be necessarily cheap, so most people will opt to use the free version instead.

You can pay with your data if you consent to it. It's your data, your choice. But if you don't consent then prepare your credit card for payment. Most people then will choose the free version.

That other free service also encounters the same dilemma. They have to pay for the site, so either they take your data or make you pay.

What if they say it's $20 a month? And it's just facebook. Google also asks for $20, Reddit too, etc. It won't be cheap.

Somebody has to pay for it in the end, so Facebook could simply say "agree to targeted advertising and use the site for free or do not agree and pay a monthly fee for the site".

Pressing, for example, Ctrl+C is simpler with the left hand only and if one uses sticky keys then it's two separate keypresses, no stressing of the wrists needed.

The great thing with org is that you can as much or as little of it as you want. One can even use it as a simple TODO list in a single file without using any of the power features. And then one can gradually expand this by using more featur

Not neccessarily obiovus, because the current quotas are also per project. So if you get a 1000 calls a day then every different map projects in your acocunt gets 1000 calls. This suggests the new free tier can also be per project.

The pricing/limit changes are very aggressive. It's hard to believe they don't affect 98% of current users according to them.

I can probably lower the loads somewhat, but I use other maps services too (street view, etc.) and this $200 free credit seems like for all of the services combined monthly, so one does not get a $200 free credit for each service and costs

It could do the opposite too. When a loaded extension is not used for some time (maybe the user switched to an project with a different language), so there is no active code depending on it then it should unload it to free up resources.
