Bing has hover previews too, they just activate with a gesture to the right rather than a mouseover. The content of Google's previews is far superior though.

Bing will never be a significant source of revenue if it has no users. Like it or not, browser defaults drive market share. Besides, what's wrong with a large company trying to diversify streams of income?

I use xmarks to sync bookmarks, and lastpass to sync passwords. Both of them work with Firefox and Chrome.

I'm just starting to go beyond Excel, but I chose to learn Python and scipy over R due to reading that R's scripting language didn't match up to Python. Am I handicapping myself by ignoring R?

That's a great idea. Here's a suggestion for an extra feature: let me group search results by company. Then I can quickly get an idea for who's hiring without paging though hundreds of results.

Playlists and metadata are just a better abstraction than a hierarchy of directories and files for music. Why should anyone care where the data is stored when they just want to hear a playlist? Of course, control is the reason Apple/MS don'

Exactly, multiplying two numbers and reversing a string aren't what got me interested in Ruby. TryRuby was an absolutely frictionless way to learn the basics because it had a few lessons built in. I'll be back to this site in a few weeks to

It's true that lexically scoped variables can replace closures when all you're using closures for is to wrap a section of code in starting and ending sections. But blocks are more general purpose than this. Have a look at the clean API that

Wow, thanks for this. That's a great implementation of the same feature. You even get suggestions for your search terms - something Firefox doesn't do unless you use the dedicated search field.
