Was there anything in particular that made this click for you? If you have any resources to share I'd love to see them.

I've been learning a lot, fast, by trying to build out the same (very simple) full-stack web application in using different frameworks. Different backends, different frontends and different databases. Admittedly, I've been doing t

I fully agree. We don't have anything in place at the moment to stop users from adding private projects that take a huge amount of time to complete, but we are going to spend time on helping to guide customers away from that situation.

+1. I used to take the same position as ffhhj on this and I learned the hard way to talk to customers first before doing anything. I'm not saying that building in stealth mode without talking to customers can't work, I just believ

The main question I have after reading this is: what 'bargain' is the author referring to? Apps change their logos all of the time, as is their right. The timing of this post is coincident with pride month, and many companies chan

To put myself at ease I ask myself two questions: how long can I live with solely on my savings & investments? And how long, conservatively, would it take me to find work if I lost my job tomorrow? It sounds like you've had good fi

I've seen this in a lot of places that I've worked. I find myself coming back to Des Traynor's talk at the Web Summit[1] when thinking about process. One point that hits home is hist quote that every process will slow us down

Congratulations on the launch! I don't have much constructive feedback, other than the custom launch plan idea resonates well with me. It's something that other vendors miss IMO. I have two questions if you don't mind: 1: onb

I totally agree with you. Some of the content there seems relevant to CS in general, but I hate the fact that you need to study content that you won't use on the job in order to pass an interview. It doesn't make sense to me. I&#x

The only true measure of your market value is what people are willing to pay you. 32k seems a bit low for central Europe but it's difficult to say without a more precise location. There are easier (and less accurate) ways to assess you

While the tech is constantly advancing, I have yet to use one in anger that fully solved my problem outside of giving me information that's already easy to find. I think the only place it makes sense is in very very specific use-cases.

There is evidence that traditional software engineering interviews[1] assess a candidate's ability to perform under pressure better than their ability to do the job. I find it crazy that you need to spend weeks studying leetcode-style

Funnily enough, there's another web page on the NASA domain that outlines the "longer path" or "equal transit" theories as the correct cause of lift on an aircraft wing: https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www&

That's interesting. Was Github Enterprise too expensive or was there another reason you didn't use it? What advantage did partially moving to Gitlab bring? This question is coming from a genuine place of curiosity, in case that&#x

Ethical concerns aside*, I far preferred Github to BitBucket. Bitbucket has been incredibly unstable for the last few years that I've been using it at work. I regularly see the "We're experiencing issues..." banner when
