Even if this worked (it will not and cannot), it will only work in SOME places, whereas it will constructively ADD in others since the fan and the speaker are not co-located. To make it work in ALL places you'll need an infinite number

Saying “ai” does not magically solve anything. Current best ML things can’t even solve medium difficulty calculus equations. We’re nowhere near them doing original work like understanding what’s in 1000 images, creating a world model out of

8 hours was impressive in 2019. Nowadays, I don’t take a charger for my MBA with me on weekend trips. It is life-changing.

I suspect (with no inside knowledge) that this is a battery life play. CPU decoding == bye bye battery. It is much better to force the server to serve you something that you CAN hardware-decode.

Because there is nobody who makes linux devices of equal battery life and performance to macbooks, nor does linux wake up from sleep as reliably.

When people say it is impossible, they clearly mean it is impossible to do in a way that isn’t entirely broken by losing one key. You know this and please don’t pretend that you don’t. When competent cryptographers say the word impossible i

Hard disagree. Humans fail in ways I know, can predict, and know where to look for. ML coding assistants fail in all sorts of idiotic ways and thus every damn line needs to be scrutinized.

There is plenty of non-ML work to do. Drivers do not write themselves, bringup does not do itself, scripts that glue it all together do not write themselves, schematics do not review themselves :)

Come join GM (formerly Cruise) ADAS org. We are hiring. Work is pretty cool at every level from kernel and drivers to userspace linux to frameworks, to ML. And, as long as you are >50 mi from detroit, you are going to be fully remote. Pa

This is overcomplicated to collect money IMHO. All modern OSs can happily backup app files. It is a well-solved problem. If you find this backup method not secure enough (as Signal authors do), fine, encrypt the backup with a special key, e
