Huh. I had no idea that this feature was even available. I imagine that keeping an unlimited amount of undo data would take up a heck of a lot of space that wasn't actually needed, so it makes a lot of sense that they're switching it to p

It's a shame that "loading screen minigames" were patented; probably one reason they aren't more common. According to Wikipedia, Namco has a patent on the concept. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loading_screen#Minigames It looks like there

I misread Adium as Atium. Gave me a mental image of Kelsier (from Mistborn) responding to tweets he hasn't actually received yet. (It's possible SOMEONE else here has read that series...)

My boss and I just bought iShoot last night while at a conference in San Diego. (SNC Knowledge09) I showed him the Lite version at dinner, and then we both bought it and had some fun multiplayer games. I wouldn't have had it if not for th

(I'm not actually disputing the parent comment, just for the record. It just reminded me of something.) I carry at least a couple $2s around constantly, as well as dollar coins and half-dollars, for tips. Whenever I travel, I pick up a fe

I moved out of state, away from my employer, so I work from home all the time now. I'm working on saving up enough for a mortgage down payment and moving back to the area, and one of the number one things I'm looking forward to is being abl

I'm mainly wondering if he can get his face sued off over this. I've got NO doubt that this is going to have a noticable negative impact on Amazon's profits. Not world shaking, but more than enough to make the lawyers angry. As another com

This isn't about a startup or a small business asking its employees to contribute to the cause. It's about a large industry that often views its employees as disposable parts. The games industry has always been something of a meat grinder

Same here, actually; I use it primarily as a reminder. Some days I get a lot of value out of the anti-procrastination feature, as it will warn me when I've been here. I actually start my browsing on work days with HN, because if I get the

I rememeber that for a while, PA made a point to send out warning notices to people they were going to link in their news posts. Did they happen to send one your way, or did you find out when your site's traffic spiked like a champion volle

You asked for reasons why you got downvoted, which is what you got. Your reasons for posting those were fairly clear, the issue is that people disagree with you. I certainly don't see casual sex as being an example of "nastiness" or "evil"

That IBM article was really informative; thanks for the recommendation! I'm going to have to run without a unit testing framework, as (to my knowledge) the platform I'm using doesn't support it. Doesn't seem like one is required, though.

I agree with the criticism of the scrolling odometer widget; that part sounds like it would be better handled with the keyboard. I'm willing to cut them a little slack on the "lack of user testing" angle; it's not like there are many App St
