I think you're talking past the parent, whose point is that our universe's physics may not be polynomial time computable (or computable at all, for that matter).

When I worked at Square we required mutual TLS for almost all service-to-service communication within a datacenter, so sniffing traffic within the datacenter wouldn't be fruitful either (assuming no weakness in the cipher or TLS stack)

I think it's best to allow longer passwords for those who use long phrases. It's easier to remember the full phrase than a truncated version. You could show a warning that the extra chars beyond 50-55 will be ignored.

Presumably the parent meant a stock whose share price tracks inflation in spite of its dividend. So if you reinvest the dividend, you beat inflation and potentially beat the market, depending on the dividend yield.

I notice that they're all gable roofs, compared to the hip roofs which the author criticizes. Gable roofs usually look less prominent, since there's less surface area, and it's usually on the sides which you don't see as

The thing with roofs is that if you get substantial snowfall in winter, practicality demands a steep roof pitch, otherwise melted snow will drip through the shingles. A high roof pitch necessary makes the roof more prominent. From a reverse

Compressed speech doesn't take much space anyway. Narrowband AMR uses around 7kbit/s (depending on the desired quality), or ~1 megabyte for a 20 minute call. The quality isn't great, but it's adequate for most purposes,

Yes, but the java.time package is significantly smaller, and much improved in my opinion. For example, Joda has a few mutable structures, while java.time is 100% immutable. I still don't like how you can do things like Instant.from(Day
