It's just a form of price discrimination. Early bookers are usually price-sensitive individuals. They're prepared to shop around, or even forgo the trip if it's too expensive. Late bookers are mostly corporate customers or pr

The platform team does do code review and automated tests, but occasionally something slips through, so they QA release branches as well. Is there any major app (say, at least 1 million SLOC) which has such good automated tests that they&#x

Anecdotally, it seems most models can be quantized to 8 bits without much loss of accuracy, and fixed point arithmetic requires much less hardware. Training is still done with floating point though.

Rate limiting is a way of failing gracefully. Ideally your request handlers never fail, but if they have to, having a rate limiter filter out some requests (based on rules you control) is usually better than the default failure behavior of

There's nothing wrong with selling public domain works for profit in general. (KDP has some restrictions - https://kdp.amazon.com/help?topicId=A2OHLJURFVK57Q ) Were those authors pretending they were original works?

But the first sale doctrine means there can be other legit sellers. There's no way to be certain whether a third party seller is selling a counterfeit (except by buying it).

I think most GIF optimizers would do it, although I haven't tried any. E.g. https://ezgif.com/optimize says they do it ("makes unchanged parts of the following frames transparent").

The major ISPs don't pay much for transit though. E.g. Comcast is is not tier 1, but with their peering arrangements they pay for less than 1 percent of their traffic. The notorious Comcast/Netflix case was certainly not motivated

I get that. That's why you diversify your assets and hold a bit of cash as well. But 6 months is a bit extreme. It's not as if a diversified portfolio is going to drop to zero during a major recession (unless the government collap

A workaround is to convert ISOs to NSOs after 90 days. Quora adopted that policy a while ago and a lot of companies followed suit (Square and Pintrest to name a few). Sam A now recommends that approach - http://blog.samaltman.com
