Thanks a lot. Now if you could just kill off everyone ahead of me, it could save me a lot of work. :) This is a neat thing. More insight would always be good (source up or anything?) Perhaps it can help motivate me to step my game up a

It won't pull my data (dustin). Perhaps too much. I've had that with other tools. I've even got my work spread across several github repos (memcached, couchbase, some others).

I posted a comment over on reddit, but someone who thinks linux is the greatest thing ever (I've been using it since the mid nineties, don't get me wrong) should be able to give me just a few of the unix server development features I get fo

A paraplegic can't learn to walk, and usually presents as such. A non-programmer can usually shed this condition with effort, or at the very least exchange laziness for money.

It's kind of weird reading that. Many people think it's rude to ask someone who wants work done to do the work themselves. I think it's rude to expect other people who've got you 90% of what you want to just drop what they're doing and give

I hope that didn't sound like an attack. I'm glad you solved your problem and communicated it. I did see that while twisted does have multipart file upload in a branch on lp, it's not actually merged in yet. The problem is just one of lan

Easy solution: He should just run a static analyzer on the code first to see if it will terminate before he executes it.

It would cost me considerably more than $5 to download xcode over my ATT wireless connection. It's a bit easier over my DSL, but they just started metering that really tightly as well.

Yes, but it's a very expensive way to do it -- and the article is about how to do it this way. This way takes 10GB read and 10GB write of IO in subprocesses and then running a separate process for every HTTP upload of the individual files.

What a terrible way to achieve network concurrency. You can't possibly think that each upload is using a "core" (as described in the article). That would imply that a two core web server could only serve two files at the same time. Sendi

I like how people think that newline characters use more bandwidth than other characters. That page is about 1K. It could be smaller, but IE wouldn't render it.
