This reminds me that I created a web ring for self-published comic books as a kid called ComicSect. Must have been around 1994.

I cannot believe I haven't heard of this. You're going to send me down a manic rabbit hole... I've heard that said about Eyes Wide Shut before! These people truly live in a different world.

Interesting, but I'm not seeing what this has to do with Fourier or Laplace. Mathematically, the statement is: if x is L^{\infty} and h is L^1, then y=x*h is L^{\infty}. The proof of this is very routine... just write down the definiti

Not sure why this is being downvoted, it completes my Epstein bingo card: 1. Epstein commited horrendous crimes with Maxwell. 2. Maxwell protected by Berman. 3. FREE SPACE 4. Berman fired by Barr. 5. Barr's dad hired Epstein at Dalton.

Dodgy how? I've always found that it's difficult to get a student to even venture a guess about the answer to a problem. If they do make a guess then they probably have a mental model about how the situation should work... and the

I discovered Prof Mahajan through his "Teaching College-Level Science and Engineering" course on MIT OCW. I must have watched it six times during graduate school. He also has an OCW course based on this book. http://web

If you’re talking about time series databases then there are a number of them used in industrial settings called “process historians”, for instance, OSI PI.

So is s-domain superior to Fourier domain for stability analysis only, or are there other reasons? (I know enough signal processing to be dangerous.)

Same people are now making Reaper DAW which is the best DAW out there for $60 (and probably better than some more expensive DAWs). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Frankel

This is true of the Fourier transform, too. The duality properties of the FT make it a nice theoretical tool. And the existence of the FFT make it a nice practical tool, too.

I see your point about stability analysis. I will take a look into CZT, I recall the HN post at the time but didn't look into it much.

I've never understood the use of the Laplace transform. Perhaps that's due to my mathematical exposure (theoretical qualitative analysis of pdes). Since the Laplace transform lacks the duality of the Fourier transform, it doesn&#x

A quick intuition for this is: d/dx(e^(iwx)) = iw*e^(iwx)... that is, differentiation amplifies higher frequencies more than lower ones.
