The threadID used in the affinity wrapper maps to the address of a C++ object, so unfortunately no. To be more clear, it operates directly on pthreads under the hood, so if you had some way of grabbing the pthread information from a Java th

Hey all! I'm one of the maintainers of IHMCRealtime, so if you have any questions then fire away. Kind of an odd submission for HN but maybe one or two people out there might be interested in this. The motivation for this library isn&#

The fact that it forwards package registration to the underlying ghc-pkg system, has very poor/nearly nonexistent record keeping, and can't perform uninstall operations are kinda crucial. I've never heard of a packager manag

Personally, I like to follow the mantra cabal is not a package manager . Because whenever I treat it like one, I get messed up in a bad way. I buy in to this argument[1] as to why it isn't. [1]: http://ivanmiljenovic.wordpr

I found that for the maps to work you have to be really specific. Which I would say is a knock. For example, a local bar here where I live is called Old Hickory Whiskey Bar. If I search for "Old Hickory <City>", I get a bu

Is this already live on Dev-Metal? I use the MVPS Hosts File + gas mask on OS X instead of an ad blocker, and I went to the Dev-Metal home page to see if I would get presented with the add on the left, and I did not.

Serious question about Gitlab and something that has always scared me away: How does it perform on a resource-constrained system? A lot of the hardware requirements[1] are presented in terms of <x> users, but the "minimum"

I'm not convinced that these things need to be mutually exclusive. In the CS department at my university, the only language used for the first 3 years is C. But all of the courses are split in to a "lecture" and "lab&q

I've been struggling to put in to words what exactly I think about Jelly, and I'm intrigued but underwhelmed at the same why, and here's the reason: Jelly seems to be (to me) the product of the Silicon Valley filter bubble. H

We're gonna have some job listings up come February. Might be a tough sell for a lot of the folks here. We're not in the valley; we're in a small Florida city called Pensacola. And we're not slinging web apps. And we d

At it's heart, Qt is basically a C++ framework/library, so it's just like invoking Java from regular C++ code. In other words, JNI is involved.
