What does "Rust-based" even mean? Inspired by Rust? Does it transpile to Rust or something? Very confusing phrasing to me...

I was also thinking that most of these things were already doable in AngularJS.

To be fair for #11, it appears to be a blog, so that kinda makes sense. But with only 9 entries, it's a bit odd. No excuse for #10 though!

Yeah, but the weirdness inherent to them being objects but also not objects leads to all sorts of bullcrap, like `Array.isArray` being a thing. I greatly prefer the Lua approach where you only have one map type (tables), and there are metho

I agree! They are more useful! That's why I wish objects behaved that way to begin with!

I had no idea JavaScript shipped without Arrays. Too bad they didn't just let objects take anything as a key, like in Lua. Then you wouldn't have all the edge cases Arrays cause in JS. Oh well!

I'm surprised commenters here seem to be siding with management when: * They only bought the site about a year ago. * They've replaced a number of women/minority executives with white, male, nepotism hires. * The editorial ma

Interesting! On an somewhat related note, could someone explain to me why GameCube has always been abbreviated as GCN? GameCube Nintendo seems like it would be a weird answer...

I had to stop using Firefox 70 Dev Edition because it made my 2015 Mac run out of memory. Switching back to regular 69 fixed the issue, but I hope they have corrected it by now...

Not unless promises are implemented with generators. I dunno though, I feel like there's some overlap between the two concepts, so maybe they are?

I dunno, the home button on my first ipod touch (1G) broke, which basically killed that device for me. Meanwhile, I've been on Android for a long time now, and the on-screen home button has never really been an issue like I thought it

I'm all for rural representation, but people in rural areas essentially have their vote count more than people in cities, right? Cause that's the current system for us: http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and

Cool! I've been wanting to try a framework like Tailwind, but I get the feeling I'd like something like Atomic CSS [1] better. It generates classes based on what you use, as opposed to Tailwind, which supplies thousands of classes

They could, but common use of React requires JSX, which means you need to transpile to use it. Not very "javascripty" in my opinion, at least compared to Vue, where you can include Vue via a script and be off and running.

Well, there were 4 versions released since 3.3 that still had a BDFL, so I dunno if that's the issue, yet.

Is this a new site, or did the project recently reach a milestone, or is this just resurfacing? I'm really excited about this project, especially the first-class TypeScript. Could easily see it replacing node for me!

Cool article! I've made a few very simple pieces of furniture and have always used screws, so I was surprised to see they were the weakest joint. Guess I'll need to learn how to mortise and tenon!

Only their portables, though. The SNES had 4 plus two shoulder buttons in 1990, 10 years before the GBA. Honestly, I always felt like that was a missed opportunity for Nintendo, since the GBA was basically powerful enough to run SNES games,

Is this the same Waterfox that was a Firefox build for 64-bit Windows? Is it moving towards privacy now that Firefox is 64-bit on Windows, or do the projects just share (an obvious) name?

Kind of bummed this is a new primitive type. Every instance of `typeof a === 'number'` just became `typeof a === `number` || typeof a === 'bigint'`... EDIT: The more I think about it (and the more comments I get), the mo

This seems like a good idea to me, but what are the chances that something like this actually lands? I know Guido did not seem to like this approach (to put it mildly), although I'm not sure he still has veto power having stepped down

How often do you need to do that? I feel like I never have, and I think feel like it's a rare enough use as that it shouldn't be the default behavior, but maybe I haven't written enough C.
