I have to chime in as someone who created an Angular.js app in 2017. I suppose it happens. Not that I actually wanted to, I was just working with a dumbass who overruled me. I don't really have anything it say, I just have a really str

Look up the chicken tax bill that passed a few decades ago that basically stopped any foreign car manufacturers from selling pickups in the US. That's why trucks are so much more expensive than other types of cars.

I used always have semi-colons too, but now that my code is always transpiled, I just let the transpiler handle it (and TypeScript does a good job catching ambiguities/unintended code pretty well too).

Nice! I remember a Halloween game I really liked. I think it was Kids Next Door? You had to pay to play more levels at a certain point though... On that note, I think Nickelodeon actually owns (or bought) Addicting Games, but I don't t

I mean, you're not wrong, but it's only for three shows, and there are no ads during the shows, only before and after. It was 7 when it first launched, so it doesn't seem like any other shows or new content will ever have ads

Anyone remember Joystiq? For a long time, I kept up with video game news through them, but I basically stopped caring about when they went down. Never found a site to scratch that same itch. Still instinctively went there as soon as I opene

Does the native app also constantly fail to load tweets linked from Reddit? And then you click the "retry" button and it fails again? Cause that's my general Twitter website experience...

This is a really exciting idea to me, but this website is pretty anemic (guessing it's a work in progress?). Kinda surprising to me, given the 7K stars on github. Maybe it should be submitted when it's a little more filled in?

I think it's actually worse than that: I think they are specifically allowed to do more insider trading than the average US citizen. I could be wrong though, I just heard that once upon a time.

Recently, my coworker basically asked if he should set a TTL on a password for a job we were running. We said yeah, but our code would need changes to accommodate it before it expired and we didn't have time to make them. I joked that

So, I just watched this (and you can too, it's like 3 minutes). My conclusion is that animation shouldn't happen at this high a resolution. I mean, I watched on a Pixel 3a, so maybe I didn't get the 4k HDR goodness, but it ju

This is just incorrect. I mean, Date.toISOString() will do that. Plus, it's very likely that this is just what's written in the post by the author and may have nothing to do with JavaScript. Or it could be JS that converts times t

Having used Kotlin for a while now, I find it really unfortunate that `const` wasn't `val` for the sole reason that it's 5 characters instead of 3. `val` would have matched nice with `let`, and my multi-variable declaration statem

Having recently started writing a bunch of Kotlin to replace Java, I'm happy to hear this! Type inferencing, data classes, and non-nullability make it so easy to use and have helped me catch bugs, too! I don't enjoy it as much as

Sign stealing is a part of baseball since forever (i.e. with a runner on second, like you mentioned). That's not the problem with what Houston did. They used a camera in the outfield to steal the signs, which is against the rules. They
