I took a look at the code, since I was curious far a large Pascal codebase looked like. I haven’t seen a substantial amount of Pascal code since about 2001. One thing I noticed was the file names, I can’t say I’m a fan of prefixing every si

You can have multiple workers, but they all need to process all events. So it’s not suitable for parallelisation of work (how can it be, if total ordering is required), but it can be used where different workers consume the queue in differe

I do this too, when I can either use a handle/index instead of a pointer, or when I can guarantee that the vectors size is constant (so that pointers/iterators are stable). I’ve also written my own vector that stores its elements

We have to understand our brains better first. Real neurons are substantially more complex than what even our most “biologically inspired” models are greatly simplified.

Really? In what case? It’s just an expression and the entire statement just uses the expression result. Of course when optimising code like this, I think it’s important to look at the generated assembly anyway and then you can be sure that

I’ve often heard people mention that Delphi was a superior RAD GUI experience than Visual Basic, but as someone who’s never used it, what is it that made it so great compared to VB or other GUI builder type tools (eg Qt Designer)?

They don’t have to make massive stacks of profit. They are choosing to unethically profit from people being scammed, because it makes them more money. They don’t need to make more money. Alphabet make 60 Billion USD in profit in 2022.

No, they can still vet, just doing so would make them less money. That is their problem, not yours or mine. If they can’t figure out a way to vet at scale, then they don’t deserve that scale. Most of us could be more profitable if we decide
