I'm not sure if I got you right: The performance boost with speculative execution is massive. It introduces a vuln. It is the fix for that vuln that kills the performance.

I think the article is assuming you already have Postgres for data storage and arguing against the addition of redis when that is the case, for the given common requirements that typically calls for the addition of redis into the mix.

That... doesn't make sense. You WILL get exposed to this virus. Worst case, the virus will be able to do the same and more without any prior training for your immune system. If you said "I'll try not to get covid" I&#x

Yes, but they will probably sunset it one day with an announcement like this one.

I don't think many people are lamenting the fact that their project is popular and being used. Because they can just... stop maintaining it if they wanted. They are completely free to do so. Many developers like to feel useful, feel li

The article's premise does not make sense. This stuff happens despite the tight control, not because of it. If it was uncurated, it would be a cesspool like the Google play store (or ...shudder... the "competing" stores). Hav

I don't think we are on the same page. My point is Google Play is the best the platform has to offer, and it sucks. It still does some vetting and cares somewhat about platform's security but it is nowhere near enough. Otherwi

I want to install apps though (and I actually do). Just those that makes economic sense for developers so that they won't want to resort to scams and even if they decided to, they wouldn't be able to. Apple's ecosystem provid

What do you mean by "those apps"? I'm talking about potentially ALL apps. I want to run apps on my device. That's why I bought it.

What pop-ups in iOS? You won't see ad popups instigated by Apple on any iOS device to my knowledge. And for app notifications, you have complete control from the very beginning.

That is not the source code, it is XCode IDE project file, you don't need it. This application calls the native macOS libraries to do the OCR so I don't think you'd find anything useful here to do a Linux port - you can certa
