Is there any company that provides 301 or 302 as a service? -- something cheap. I know it's not hard to set-up a small box on AWS and install Node.js (or whatever). But I would pay few dollars a month for some service to run that fo

We looked at Watson a few month back and it didn't seem as good as some of the other image tagging APIs. Maybe we should look into this again.

At Cortex ( http://www.meetcortex.com/ ) we are using this and technology like it to help brands be smarter about marketing content on social media. Really cool stuff.

I agree with you. One point I'd like to make, there is a big difference between white papers and real applications running production. Architectures are just general guidelines and won't perfectly fit every real world problem.

I trusted Google Maps untill few weeks ago it sent us down a road that became undriveable and dangerous -- costing us about two hrs. Although, this did happen in Martinique, for the most part I've had good experiencea with Google Maps

This is really interesting and relevant to what my startup is doing. For each brand page, we build a optimized forward-looking schedule that tells you when to post and what type of content. Maybe we should build a slack bot :) http:/

The city of Boston doesn't have FiOS or RCN, only Comcast. There is a history of political maneuvering.

Arlington is not really Boston. Cambridge and Somerville have more options than the city of Boston.

The funny thing is that, land of MIT and tech, the city of Boston has one cable company that is slow and overpriced.

We used PostgreSQL at my old startup and switch away from MYSQL. Some of the things I liked about PostgreSQL; that you can do schema updates without rewriting and locking the table. The one thing we ran into, because of the way MVCC works

The one thing that screwed me over is that the Upload by default compresses the files to lower res. I lost some high-res photos this way.. this should not be a default setting.

I've been using Play for about 2+ years with Scala. I think it's a cool framework and has removed most of complexity that you see with other JVM-Web frameworks. There are few things that are still missing, like up-to-date docs.

I call BS on this. Your telling me that you can do a avg task in one day while it would take some avg developer 5 to 10 days. The amount of information that is out there -- it would take a simple Google search or a day or two of researchi

I think there is a bigger problem in Boston than the cost of living. For people with tech degrees, there isn't enough of a startup engine to create enough opportunities (jobs, risky money, talent). 1) Boston seems to be risk averse wh

I think its currently true in our industry, although its hard to measure. The difference between "rock-star" and avg developer (even the ones without CS degrees) isn't no were near 10x. Could be because the tech changes so

I have used Stackdriver ( http://www.stackdriver.com/ ) before and it works good. It can get a bit pricey. They got bought by Google few months ago -- something to watch out for. I really had a good exp with their product.

The pricing needs to be more clear. For example we run MYSQL RDS in production with two AZ enabled, we pay x2 the prices.... so if its only costs a bit more than MYSQL RDS and you get 3 AZ for the same price -- this is good. Moreover, the
