They are placeholders, not final art. I've been working on a game, and I rip sprites from wherever I find them. Not because I am a callous thief, but because the art is temporary until I can get a prototype, and convince an artist to join.

While I think we agree, I don't think cynicism is the way to go about it. "Information wants to be free" is real, and passing laws to stop it is a fool's errand. We should be working to harness this new distribution network, and build conte

Does anyone else get really annoyed with the interjections about other articles I should read on Time? Reminds me of those Bing commercials.

I use it to fetch my starred links in twitter over to instapaper. On my walk to the subway, I plow through a bunch of twitter, star what I like, and read the links underground.

The comment thread under that looks super fishy as well. All positive comments, on the internet? Yeah right. And most of them are well written? Maybe my bs detector is set too high, but I smell shenanigans.

I interviewed there for a Product Manager position, and it was by far the most technical interview I've ever had, and like the OP said, featured a lot of computer science type questions. I know very few product managers that would have done

He's not talking about creative people, he's talking about Normals. For most people a link from Reddit or a party photo is all the content creation they do. Besides which, the aggregation and social filtering from what my friends' "like" o

You may be exaggerating. I visited the #opsony room, and at one point they were broadcasting how many LOICs were in operation. Millions? Thousands? No. <100. Less than 100 people in this mob of internet justice. And fewer still doi

I dont think this is representative. There have been comparisons made between Anonymous's DDoS and sit-ins. But there was also a more antisocial and violent part of the civil rights movement as well.

Is there raw data for this available? I would like to see survey responses and footage of the testers as well.

It would be great if I never had to see another eliza. If it can't string more than 2 utterances together, its not AI, it certainly doesnt pass the Turing test, and its a waste of time.
