Sounds about right. Never was part of the Melee community but I was always impressed at their ingenuity to figure out multiplayer in the face of Nintendo's active community hostility and bonkers multiplayer UX

The big difference is in the net code. While I can remember and justify all of my decisions about networking from DOOM through Quake, the bottom line is that I was working with the wrong basic assumptions for doing a good internet game

Oof, reactor in my pocket is a tasty prospect. Personal computing and personal transport could get super exciting. Basically a grown up way of saying Iron Man suits one day...

Yep big believer that just as mobile was the huge step change in interaction vs the PC, widespread AR glasses will be next. Maybe that's too obvious, don't know. The when is maybe more interesting. The matrix dropped in 2000 (usef

Have you watched Amadeus (the film). I like that movie for its exploration of the psychology of dedication being confronted by genius. As outsiders of the sports, it is great to celebrate the GOATs like Feds Nadal and Djoko but a cursory go

I'm Chinese but not fluent in mandarin and I struggle with Chinese names. I wouldn't feel too bad about it... Mainstream "English" names (like James, Mark, Lily, Sarah etc) are essentially independent words whereas Chine

Anyone have experience comparing weight lifting vs other forms of exercise? Curious of how cardio vs weightlifting compares for example. I have heard a lot of podcasts talking about some psychological benefits from low heart rate cardio tha

Was mildly triggered by your comment at first, being a pianist, but on reflection you're right. The skill floor for the piano is objectively lower thanks to being percussive. But my god is it difficult trying to sing with a percussiv

An aside, but I get sad when I see how much tension people have in their hands when they are typing. As a pianist this is the cardinal sin! Hand size and posture do vary a lot so looking for the right setup is important but learning to be u
