Are secrets specific to docker-swarm? If you're using plain docker, I imagine this wouldn't work? k8s has its own secrets system built into deployments. I haven't used it though. I've been at shops that use k8s+vault, an

When I was doing Scala development, we went the same route using TypeSafe Config. Default/file in the src/resources which could be overridden by ENV. It seems like secrets aren't orchestration agnostic. You can't seem to

I had a classic OpenID server and every website I use to authentication against using it has gotten rid of OpenID support. Stackoverflow was the big one. I haven't tried OpenID Connect yet. https://battlepenguin.com/tec

New Zealand had a program called Real Me. It's based on a completely and totally broken SAML2 implementation, that only gives you back a single token, and then you have to query another web service to get more information. Oh and years

I agree with a lot of this post. A lot of the left-leaning intellectuals that are now criticizing the harder-left stances in academia; people like Brent Weinstine, Jonathan Haidt, Sam Harris, et. al. ... I've heard all of them say they

It's likely CoV-2, like other coronaviruses, don't generate long lasting antibodies (6~12 months) and it's also unlikely we'll see a vaccine before this burns out. A lot of people don't generate anitbodies because i

Can you pay to get a self-hostable version? If someone issues a take down, does your policy give your customers a reasonable amount of time to get a fully backup? Have you considered just a CDN option that can connect to local peertube inst

There are a couple in current development you can contribute to. Look at Lemmy and Lobste.rs. There as Prismo too, but it's been discontinued (but you might be able to pick up and fork the code).

What about using PeerTube and other technologies that utilize webtorrent in combination with WebRTC? People should help others stream videos while watching them, rather than let a sole provider do all the heavy lifting.

There are a lot of overcounts. People who die of gunshots are COVID-19 deaths if they test positive. A huge number of people have died from secondary effects: being unable to get essential heart surgery, suicide, some people have even died
