Sounds like a load of nonsense to me. I think the background check for these jobs _does_ check if you have debts etc. and I think probes into your financial history to see behaviour - they won't take you on if you're a risk. The s

I'd ported the emulator to WASM from one I'd half written a few years previously, and engineered myself into a corner (+ like I said, not a web programmer) The emulator ran in the worker, and the inputs were handled on the main th

There's also the problem of getting keyboard input in and out of the web worker in a performant manner. I tried this a few years ago with a Gameboy emulator I had ported from Go to webassembly and used web workers to run the emulator i

I wish this video was longer and went into more detail, although I guess Ocado like to keep things light as they make money on selling this tech to other supermarket chains. I used to be an Ocado customer for about 9 years or so and they we

I have a fun bee story to tell. Last week I was at a small cafe with a garden at the rear where they keep some hives (set back from where customers can sit) Anyway we were sitting down enjoying a coffee when we suddenly hear this loud sharp

The article assumes that everyone has a lot of savings tucked away for the "lesser" damages like floor flooding (which might spiral out of control once the true extent of the damage is revealed...) It definitely makes sense if you

The 'new' Reddit UI caused my Intel macbook to get really hot just clicking around, it's not so bad on the M1 but I still prefer the old reddit UI, which feels snappy.

The whole NFT thing is completely absurd, but tbh I'd do the same in their position. If someone is willing to pay, then why not? Not sure I'd spend it on university fees though (fees operate differently here in the UK), seems like

Ahhhhh I'm so glad to see that this exists. I had an "idea" of having something like this in the past, to save having to manually type bank account numbers into a thing (and risk typos...), instead you just scan a QR code wit

Forgive my ignorance, does this mean that when your user space program makes syscalls, it doesn't require the CPU to go into ring 0/"protected mode" as your program is already running in ring 0?

I think the main selling point is being able to buy clothes and return the ones that don't fit without having to pay for the lot first, and get a refund later. The same can be applied to a credit card though so it's not a strong a
