I had an off-site interview experience with Amazon a few years ago, they came over from the US/Canada to London and held a hiring event in a hotel. You got put in a room and went through 4 face to face interviews which were very gruell

The UI for Cloudwatch Logs completely crumbles if you use it for Lambda functions, especially if you have a lot of executions. We run ETL pipelines and have lambda as a component of that, maybe 250k-500k invocations a day. If you want to se

I'm from the UK and I use my credit card for 99% of my discretionary spending, mainly for the perks, but also section 75. So the features in these challenger banks are largely useless to me, and I track all my finances elsewhere anyway

I was commenting more on the fact that the pencil and keyboard are sold separately, even though they're pictured extensively on the information page about the iPad Pro It gave me the impression they were included in the box

Another upvote for Starling here. I wasn't too impressed withthe other 'challenger' banks, but maybe I'm just too old for their target demographic.

This page makes it sound like the Apple Pencil and the foldable keyboard come in the box, when in fact they are sold separately and are very expensive. So on top of your £769 for the entry level 'Pro, the Pencil is an extra £119 and ke

In terms of "Apple units" it's a slight jump They tend to price their stuff in units of $100. So the jump is 2 'apple unit' uptick.

One thing that will be interesting around this is any future trade negotiations the UK has with the US, especially after we leave the EU. This tax will target the US giants.

Is anyone running this setup? The last time I used WINE was probably 12 or so years ago and I always got the impression it was a slow "it will do for now" experience Has it come on leaps and bounds since then?

The bit I find strange about this tracking is the whole daily spend thing. I track my finances too and I have many "zero-spend" days, but it doesn't paint a true picture because some costs come out all in one go (e.g. rent, b

Sort of reminds me of the video game "Hitman" where changing clothing to blend in with certain contexts is one of the main strategies. A few years ago a prankster here in the UK managed to get a job at a golf course, with the unif

In Java you can create a shared connection pool for AWS lambda functions, e.g. using DI and initialising your injector statically when classes are loaded by the JVM It relies on AWS using the same container/JVM for your invocations tho
