Yeah, i just signed a contract for a senior engineering role, starting at the end of the month. It wasn't hard for me to find, either. Competitive pay and benefits.

So you can't handle someone suggesting that what you said is (honestly and objectively) dickish and maybe the real source of your problem, but you can outright call others' hard work "interference" and it's all grav

God damn dude. Maybe you piss them off because you call their contributions “interference”. Honestly this is one of the most dickish things I could imagine saying about a colleague’s work.

The tip isn’t the price of delivering the order though, you’re conflating the price and the tip into the same thing, which they’re not. For the record, I’ve been a delivery driver before. Getting tipped at all was amazing, so I literally ca

I've had delivery drivers give me my order only after explicitly telling me to tip more - which was frustrating because I actually increased my tip from $5 suggested by the app to $7 cause it was a snowy night. Some people won't

It’s also just far easier to use a plural pronoun to refer to a singular person to reflect the idea that you’re talking about their whole persona, brand, work, etc… and not just specifically the human being, IMO.

It is an objectively true remark on the increasing trend of book bans that discuss specifically race and intersectional topics in the United States. Here (1) is as apolitical a source I can find that discusses this phenomenon. 1: https:&#x

There was a front page of HN post just a few days ago about a college student developing exactly that tool. As you can imagine it’s a hard problem but there is absolutely going to be value in it.

I have been writing lot of small libraries as a way to flex technical muscles. Small as in “finished in a day” small. It might be worth considering. Also, learning a new language or tool is always a good idea.

Let's slingshot a probe to it and find out! I'm only half-kidding. I think it would be super worthwhile to do, though. Especially to attempt to solve the mystery of why it sped up by 17 m/s for no visible reason.

"Visit" to me means either they entered or observed our solar system with some decent degree of resolution. Enough to get a baseline of information about us, I think.

Hard agree. Books present a single, complete tour of a concept. More and more lately I find myself just buying the best recommended book on a topic instead of trying to piece together my own journey of understanding. I’m working my way thro
