Information workers. Anyone whose whole job can be done from a laptop... They're among the most privileged workers in the world.

Both are relative terms so they can be the same or different depending on who defines them. Nearly everyone that works in the US is rich by worldwide standards, so it's not clear that a lack of billionaires for example would make thin

Yeah, these days hard to justify anything more than a $500-800 Android unless it's heavily subsidized. For $2800 I'd rather have a laptop + phone.

Here's the thing about economists... The loudest ones don't want to be correct, they want to be influential. The ones who can actually make good predictions work for banks and hedge funds lol.

1. Does unlimited actually mean unlimited? If I want to take 2 months off every year will there be absolutely zero repercussions? The others are valid though.

Lol if languages that literally run a virtual machine and abstract away everything about the hardware are low-level, what's high level?

Common Lisp allows you to define VOPs (compiler instructions) in user code. Smalltalk allows you to write inline assembly. Are those also low level languages?

They probably should increase the levies. On the other hand, the province does get $20 billion+ in direct oil revenue per year (royalties), so it's not like oil companies are just straight up robbing us.

$14 is still less than the provincial tax of any other province on a $350 panel. But bulk buyers of panels aren't the end consumer. Passing that on as part of a $15000 installation over 15 years is nothing.

Unless you've got the relevant licenses to install the panel up to code and hook into the power grid properly, yes, the cost of the installation is the cost. Also, 5% would still be lower than the lowest PST of any province lol.

This is an insane take. A $14 recycling tax per $1000+ panel comes to <1.4%, which is around a quarter of federal sales tax for example, or 1/10 of combined GST and PST somewhere like BC. Alberta has no provincial sales tax for the
