I'm not going to say it doesn't happen, discs always seemed to get lost under piles of paper and eventually wind up sitting in a drawer somewhere, only to be thrown out when that persons office is vacated.

I can't speak for Sierra as I don't know how they store their archive, but I've always found it interesting that some publishers (mostly music and movie really) use facilities such as this http://www.undergroundvau

No, nonsense. Publishers keep everything, certainly the publishers I've worked for. Sierra is one of the oldies that, to my slightly out of date knowledge, still curates an archive of almost every asset for every game they've rele

Valve have become a behemoth despite being one of the most lethargic and inflexible companies around. They're by far the most profitable company to employee ratio and you'd think they would be more capable of taking control of the

Take the refund and pick up a P2 from Best Buy or Target (or regional equivalent) for a fraction of the cost. They no longer appear to be sending anything at all out.

Extremely sad. Especially when they were offered $750 million by Citizen not long ago. I've found the watches to be a joy to use, to develop for and the community is sensational. I have no hopes it'll survive as is with Fitbit. If

If I could start learning BASIC on a ZX81 at the age of 7, I'm pretty sure anyone can. This is the era that got me into computers, and hopefully with the Pi and similar programmable devices available that are aimed at educating kids, t

I feel like there aren't many professional artists on HN, but from that point of view, Apple have been criminally negligent of the industry that made them and MS have blown their doors clean off. It's a great time for artists, may

Apple was never niche within the industry, they were the forefront of mainstream. Now they've alienated absolutely everyone and their only direction seems to be toward proprietary nickel and diming.
