That is a very narrow view of what you can do with computer programming. What about embedded software in pace makers than runs inside peoples hearts. The vast simulators that can simulate each collision within the Large Hadron Collider then

How do you make a traditional database immutable? Who controls writes and updates? Well it’s a matter of consensus.

Java is not statically compiles to machine code. It’s statically compiles to byte code which is hen interpreted or dynamically compiles to machine code. So to way java is statically compiles is not quite correct in my opinion.

Do we even need emulation? All supported software can be recompiled. All the rest is unsupported. It's not nice for those with unsupported software bit I don't see this holding back Apple.

Yep. I see this too. Mac app store apps have been dual architecture for a long time. 32 bit and 64 bit. Adding ARM as another compilation target will take some work but is doable. Maybe they go to three architectures in the app store, or ma

A modified OS X? It will be macOS or it won't be a Mac. I don't see any need for modification beyond a new major release. The term "modified OS X" makes it sound hybrid, but I don't see space in apples line for some

Yeah in general this approach is based on ActiveRecord from Ruby On Rails. But in Ruby it's based on method_missing not a proxy. I believe ruby got it's method_missing idea from Smalltalk. But there might be other precursors.

Can you have higher order components? In react this is a function that returns a component, often taking another component as a parameter. What's nice about react is that the JSX syntax is just sugar that converts to function calls.

Using fileman to navigate network fileshares was always much faster than using explorere. And x10 so when the fileshare contains .xml and .docx files, as explorer tries to read them just to decide on the icon.

Safari on iOS already has face detection. But I don’t think there is an API for it. If you can’t see well and so enable VoiceOver, when a webpage opens the camera to take a photo the phone will what it sees, “like face in centre of photo”.

For servers running big data tools, like the one described, 99.99% of the IO is going to be from the application, so you want the IO algorithms tuned to that. If there is some inefficiency in the remaining 0.01% then too bad.
