Yep, I'm looking to move to one of those places rather than argue with USA folks about how they don't work.

I drink it because it's the only sparkling water that doesn't taste gross. No artificial sweeteners, just a bit of agave with flavor / bubbles. Price isn't too bad either.

Reminds me of those serious warnings at the beginning of movies, like pirating is the worst sin imaginable in the world. They'll find you! Oh but crimes affecting the common folk? That's too hard, sorry.

This stuff is almost too scary for me to read. My childhood was awful and only around age 30 did my life start to get "better".

Yep. It's a cycle where they select based on this, and those folks go on to do well due to network / opportunity. Not saying they don't have talent, but there isn't a lack of talent in the lower class either.

The advantage is the network / badge that comes with it. That and you tend to have great funding / access to more opportunities. So, I'd argue there's a great advantage. But it's more accessible to those who alread

Yep, easy to google, I'm not sure why folks want us to summarize and explain it all here for them. It's been going on for years and when you have stuff like that, you unfortunately tend to find a reason to use it.

If you read the article it actually implies the opposite, saying those founders who don't maintain family / friends burnout.

This is actually really funny. The majority of us (not just tech) definitely sacrifice our private lives for work, to some degree.

The problem is that the two are entangled. Those at low incomes (heck even middle income), will be disproportionately hurt by climate change.

You think Shays' rebellion is relevant here? That is quite the reach. https://www.nber.org/system/files/working_papers/w31775/w317... There is an overwhelming amount of data pointing in the opposit

This doesn't address what I said though. Salaries may follow, but their cash savings do not.

Presumably their investments would inflate as well. Unfortunately, the asset owning class is protected by inflation in that way. It's the lower / middle class who have cash savings that get wrecked by inflation.

Only want to chime in here for folks to not feel bad about also getting help beyond physical fitness and diet. I've been a health junky my whole life, very in shape, and I eat well. Of course that helps my mental health a lot. However,

I think you're reading way too much into it with little context. For instance, we don't even know how old the kid is, or if the workload on the kid from school is super high.

To be fair, debt isn't an indicator of anything but credit being used to build something now (aka an investment in the future). So we should be focusing on what that debt is being used to fund, more than the debt itself. In my opinion

Not sure we can fix it here in the US. It's wild going to a place like Australia and seeing how differently the police and others treat homeless folks there, in short, with compassion. We're just obsessed with car culture, militar
