Interesting... Most benchmarks show this model as being worse than o3-mini-high and sonnet3.7. What difference are you seeing from these models that makes it better? I say this as someone considering shelling out $200 for ChatGPT pro for th

This makes no sense. Assume 1,000 customers each generating $2m in ARR with contracts. That’s $2 billion. Assume generous 6x ARR valuation, that’s $12 billion. Where is this $20 billion premium coming from? How could the board approve this?

Yeah maybe if my employer has the ambition to pay. Am I working hard at Meta? You bet I am. For median SWE salary and 0.001% in “options” that will likely never have a liquidity opportunity? I’m not so sure…

It’s not about Redis vs not Redis, it’s about working with data that does not serialize well or lend itself well to extremely high update velocity. Things like: counters, news feeds, chat messages, etc The cost of delivery for doing these t

The reason is: It doesn't affect their pocket books. Meanwhile property prices and 401ks are up, old people (the largest cohort of voters) really just don't care. I wish people had more empathy for others, but they don't. The

I don't understand how Andreessen, Thiel, and the rest of the the "alt right tech" prefer this and "anti woke" to some non-consequential DEI lip service and a functioning government. Oh well, as long as he's &q

I've written a ton of software, both backend and embedded-like software in C++. What are people writing that requires such fancy/extensive usage of the borrow checker? I can't even remember the last time I had to use a shared

The guy who made this video is pretty weak on how to communicate effectively. Spends like 6 minutes with a creepy cardboard face of MrBeast in the clinic and performing "eye surgery" on him tf? It's still not clear to me what

Wow, actually a good point I haven't seen anyone make. Taking raw embeddings and then storing them into vector databases, would be like if you took raw n-grams of your text and put them into a database for search. Storing documents mak

I am trying to understand this too. Supervised learning you train on pairs of (x, y) where x is your input (title/post text/metadata) and y is the output score. Naively, it's a linear regression model, Y = b0 + b1x1 + b2x2 +

I love that new, performant data structures are still being found in CS. It's easy to forget that it's still such a new and early field. The modern version of CS started in what... the 50s, earliest? There are many people alive to

Very nice website, I appreciate the mailing list demo. I was skeptical about how much data you would have ,and the mailing list demo convinced me and probably many others that you have a good amount of data to offer a quality service.
