How is this different from the more established GopherJS?

I think the article is exaggerating a lot, I was in Shkodër for a month in 2004 and while it was filled with culture shock, I never felt unsafe as a tourist. That said, I also didn't decline the Raki or Saleep... ... I miss the Saleep.

You ever think about selling these? Asking as a potential buyer.

How does anyone, when asked to build such a program, not raise an objection, or say something? The ethical compromise made on behalf of all involved is startling, if this is true.

Not through the monthly post but I got hired at Vitrue because of this comment on HN getting me the lead: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2112938

Hey jcjohns, fan of your work. I've noticed that your project for fast-neural-style does instance normalization over batch normalization. Batch normalization has the benefit that you can merge the gamma & beta into a convolutional

https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#... The Structured Data Testing Tool doesn't complain. We'd need someone to try it out and get the results of the other Google Search

Actually myself and a co-conspirator are in the process of building this. Email is in my profile, if you'd like to be apart of the alpha once we get there.

Jupyter is IPython notebook, they just rebranded it. It's the same software.

Some of the current open issues worry me, this is a very very early stage project. I will keep an eye on it and wish it the best, but I feel like Nim is still my go to (pun not intended) for "C speeds but not C level"

I wish how it was related to Apache Kafka was explained as well, since it looks like a totally different beast, and appears to only share the name.

In defense of the author, a fairly feature full IRC client in 115 LOC with a single typo is pretty impressive. I applaud his work.

I think the most surprising fact, despite all the amazing work here, is that Comcast helps pay for this kind of research! Other then that, it's great that we are getting some good results after serious vetting for more modern replaceme

I'd love to add similar features to textql[1]. am currently working on a v2 that does a lot more, but right now it fills a gap not in CSVKit, which is the direct execution of SQL on flat files. [1]: https://github.com/d

> Also, does CREATE TABLE ... SELECT ... FROM tbl work? Plus -save. Yes. You can even modify and append to existing sqlite datebases. I'd love for this to become, eventually, a general purpose tool for working on data from the CLI.

Author here. XML/HTML support, via XPATH selectors, is coming. I would love to be able to pipe the output of curl through this!

Author here. - Multiple file/table support is coming. - I like the -tab setting. Will add. I also want to support -dlm=xFF format for arbitrary delimiters, which makes working with Hive text file formats easier.

Author here: Key differences: - sqlite import demands an on disk db, textql will use an in memory db if it can, increases performance - sqlite import will not accept stdin, breaking unix pipes. textql will happily do so. I will make a note

Author here: I like this idea! I will consider it, but a problem is that '.' is not allowed as a table name, without escaping brackets. May have to drop file-ext for it to work.

I'm a zsh-er and use oh-my-zsh, but I borrowed the syntax highlighting, called it `sat` short for "source cat", and piped through less for paginated output: # before use: [sudo] easy_install pygments alias sat='pyg
