There's nothing wrong with it, but having the ability for people to opt-out (some professional photographers, for example, don't want any kind of usage that isn't pre-approved, even if editorial) would be a way to make it cry

Yeah, YouTube I knew about (though they do make the option a bit harder to find than they should) but AFAIK, there are no equivalents for Vine, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Facebook embeds I haven't looked at, though.
