Depends. Equality of opportunity, equality of the vote, equal in the eyes of the law, those are largely uncontested. Income/outcome equality is certainly a hot button issue.

Survey methodology and all that, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if most of the affected population didn't know. Net Equality would have likely perked up more interest.

It's not postmodernism. It's hot cognition, and this sort of behavior isn't limited to the left.

To elaborate, MI 1 and 2 can very much be seen as the glorified daydream of a child imagining himself to be a pirate. (There are certainly some books that play with this sort of thing, but I'm not remembering them at the moment. Pan&#x

MI3 is a good adventure game in its own right, but it's a very different flavor of MI than the first two, which are decidedly more literary/surreal/sardonic.

We haven't been arguing that programming can't benefit from math. > ignoring math as a programmer, feels like ignoring music theory as a musician or linear algebra as a structural engineer. We're not ignoring math.

Curry-Howard isomorphism does not mean the same practices that are performed in mathematics research must be applied to writing software. Some aspects of language design are reinventing wheels invented by the math community. This is far fro

Software engineering isn't math research. While I'm not against making it easier to formally prove correctness, at the same time I'm not sure why you think it's so important. We've been doing pretty well without it.

A $100k company could only be a 10x return for a $10k investment if that investment was for 100% of the company.

I spent a year not working and had no trouble lining up dozens of interviews when I started looking. However, it did take several months before (a) my interview game was up to par, and (b) I found a company I actually wanted to work for.

I'm completely sympathetic to your point. Part of the problem is that the examples you give were, sadly, not enough of a deviation from the status quo to shock people into large scale action/donation. Trump's actions are, and

It would surprise me if there wasn't already an AI that could handle that class of question. Or, at least, I'd imagine it being relatively straightforward (non-trivial, but straightforward) to develop an AI that could handle it.
