You don’t want to be bandwidth-bound, sure. But it all depends on how much compute power you have to begin with. 153GB/s is probably not enough bandwidth for an Rtx5090. But for the entry laptop/tablet chip M5? It’s likely plenty.

as expected too heavy of a data stream to be true. resolution is lower than 4K while frame rates aren’t even in the ballpark of 2000 fps. https://www.blogordie.com/2023/09/hw4-tesla-new-self-driving...

this bit is a no-go for me. they've decided what goes in the immutable base os and allowed a set of kde apps citing subpar experience flatpak versions. I'm guessing they haven't tested all flatpak apps as they tested their ap

I suppose if we are at comparable refresh rates to LCDs, next metric to compare against is response time? I see significant amount of trailing while scrolling.

I guess we all knew that liquid glass design language was gonna leak into the web eventually but if I see a website drain my battery so it can distort the text I’m trying to read I won’t be staying. The stuttering has already been pointed o

public companies have been running on the fumes of speculative value, or some hypothetical future value according to off-the-chart P/E ratios. this is nothing new for musk. he has been promising some future that always needs to look be

vscode started to intermittently freeze my whole desktop on arch linux recently. I rage deleted it. imho, it’s a valid compromise to choose a snappy lightweight editor over vscode with all available extensions. sadly it reminds me of how vi

this is kind of a funny example to me because of all the programming language and compiler discourse that's happening. analogies almost always miss the mark by hiding the nuances that need discussing, and this topic is no exception.

Last I checked power management didn't work so they would run hot and burn through your battery. So unless there is full software support for hardware that makes laptops a portable computer, it's just not a practical solution for

same here. I'm always hesitant to build anything commercial over abstractions, adapter or translation layers that may or may not have sufficient support in the future. sadly in 2025, we are still in desparate need for an open standard

funny enough I had coworkers who similarly had a hold of the jargon but without any substance. They would always turn out to be time sinks for others doing the useful work. AI imitating that type of drag on the workplace is kinda funny ngl.

I'm on the same boat. The specularity around edges don't match the refraction patterns and it throws me off every time. Somehow they thought this wouldn't affect readability of whatever button or panel it's applied to. T

It is a noble cause. I've spent ten years of my life using CUDA professionally, outside the AI domain mind you. Most of these years, there was a strong desire to break off of CUDA and the associated Nvidia tax on our customers. But one
