Ya I think 'driving' is a bit of an exaggeration. If it weren't for stripe, Apple and Amazon would have absolutely no way to accept payments? Lol.

Can someone explain all the Jira hate to me? Yeah it's an ugly UI. But once you are used to how it works, doesn't it do the job fine? I don't spend that much time in task management software, just need to look up my tasks...

I view a lot of these cons as pluses. In college organic chem classes we had a component of work that was online. The main benefit was that it gave instant feedback and explanations, much better than the cycle of turning in physical work to

I'm not a heart doctor. Here's why I am not wary of the Apple Watch: 1. At a societal level, perhaps false positives during screening put undue load on the medical system. But as an individual, it makes sense for me to screen for

Of course, I agree. Every nation decides who has access to it's markets. China has denied access to a set of US companies in certain industries. It is then only fair that the US match this denial of access, which is what a tariff is.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I read about a Chinese gaming company that was affected by these restrictions, so it could be that censorship is the end game. It's hard to ignore that US companies have lost hundreds of billions of dollars be

That's interesting, I was not aware of the US response to the IP theft I read about. Well, it's been a long time coming.

You could respond with tarrifs on physical goods. Tarrifs don't have to be on the same item, they could just aim for equivalent financial impact.

Took a look at Provakil and it seems interesting. May I ask how much a typical engineer startup salary is in India? I had heard they got pretty high with all the US companies opening offices there (like 50-60k USD+)

Why are these digital service blocks seen as anything but tariffs by the US government? They cost American companies billions of dollars and help enrich Chinese companies. Yes, maybe censoring is the purpose, but the financial effect is the

How much did you receive, on the order of $10k or on the order of $100k? If it's really that easy to switch for y'all that you can be doing it to save money in cloud expenses, then either you really are best off with something lik

I think it is because many people's bill is not primarily in EC2. AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure's biggest value add come from managed services, like auto scaling databases and VMs. It makes it a lot easier for a small startup to bu

Please think a little. If I am concerned about my safety and I'm in a car, then I only have to trust drivers not to do egregious things like head on collision at high speeds. If I'm on a bike, I have to trust the teenage driver no

I once had to pay a pharmacy a higher copay for a drug than their list price for it. Once they found I had insurance, they said I couldn't just buy it without using my insurance (probably a lie). Is it the pharmacy ripping me off and g

I think the real problem is that you are blowing things out of proportion...to me your situation doesn't seem that bad. You are aware of your mental condition, so try to reason your way through this mode of thinking.

I call bushit on this story. This article is greatly exaggerated to grab your attention. $1.4k for a closet in an Airbnb with 13 people, where you don't get a key and have to sneak in? Heh. I have found a large room in a newer complex
