I hate them as much as you do, but you're wrong. I would love to see some evidence (a link or something) of this. I see captchas that look like pretty good edge-detection discriminators- street lights in tree limbs, bicycles against

As developers we should take a blood oath that we will always optimize for Firefox.

This might save you a click: The problem they are addressing is that some people prefer not to date others of specific ethnic background or countries of origin. They call it "sexual racism."

I'm wondering if Google degrades performance on its properties, like youtube and gmail? I use Chrome for GSuite and that's all. I'm fine with FF's performance on YT, but I'm not very picky about such things.

If TPMS is tire pressure, then you are being unfair. There are cars like Toyota and Audi that have sensors that don't work well and even frequent service can't keep them off (to the point where some will not-quite-suggest disabli

To your point, as I said in a thread yesterday, I get these trackers and I'm logged in to WaPo. I pay them $100/year and they still track me. How can we make them stop? It's going to take our legislature, because this f

The problem is that if those voices are the only ones talking, eventually people who don't know better are going to start believing them. They need some ammunition against such stupidogenic propaganda.

maybe free-fall? A bunch of them on a ferris-wheel like gizmo (but maybe more oblong up and down), some "active" while falling and others "inactive" while returning to the top?

I'm not convinced that the ones you pay for aren't tracking you too. As a non-app example, I pay for the Washington Post and uBlock Origin shows that I'm still food for doubleclick et al- even when I'm logged in.

I have probably a Pi radians stance from you. I don't believe Amazon (or Facebook or Google or ATT) will necessarily lose a meaningful number of customers. I don't think people are that cohesive in their thinking. It seems to b

Are you suggesting that developers deserve some kind of vote? Of course not. Their role is to help determine what's required to achieve the objectives set by management. Good management will consult with them, set goals... This. C

Why would they set those benchmarks? Dev benchmarks are things like delivery schedules, development budget and capability trade-offs.

I could get on board with this if the devs had a say in setting those benchmarks.

There have also been discussion about the same thing happening in music and science. That is, the people who produce the best work also produce the most work, and a lot of that work is bad. But some of it is very, very good.

My gripe is that there ought to be an assigned overhead compartment for every individual seat. I get really annoyed when there's not enough room for my carry-on and it becomes my problem. It should be the airline's problem.

Don't take me the wrong way: I hate ads too. I usually find out about things from other people, or ads in non-online media, or when I am physically at a store or on Amazon searching for something. I tend to by generic/commodity

My hunch is that if this is a problem then Amazon will soon provide a turnkey solution for its vendors. It would be a great competitive advantage to prevent the tax headaches.
