Exactly. For the most part all this bot protection is only protecting these websites against humans. I don't do free work. I'm not going to label 50 images of crosswalks and motorcycles for free.

This sounds like a case where we should just change the syntax. If Betty is the maid it should be written: They went to Oregon with Betty [a maid], and a cook.

Also a fellow astrophotography enthusiast here! I love to photograph deep sky objects in the context of their landscapes. There is a lot of math, stacking, tracking, and denoising in the process, but I keep every image very real as what y

Humans fear discomfort, pain, death, lack of freedom, and isolation. That's why holding them liable works. Agents don't feel any of these, and don't particularly fear "kill -9". Holding them liable wouldn't do

So give free solar to selected homes with 1 km spacing. Either the government or solar companies should be willing to sink this cost in order to get the additional business.

The US ranges are also way overestimated. My Tesla long range gets about 60% of advertised range in real world conditions. I'm talking stop signs every block, mountains you need to drive across, insanely hot days, i.e. the real world.

I have AT&T Fiber and 99% of the time it's fantastic, but there are several instances of 30-60 second downtime a day and I have a 5G modem with a Google Fi data sim as a backup. Failover is nearly-instant with a Unifi UDM. The data

That strategy sucks when you have 15 supercomponents depending on 1 subcomponent, you want to rewrite the subcomponent, and now you have to deal with all 15 of them and get codeowners approvals from all 15 of those teams. In a polyrepo org

The one thing I hate about monorepos is nothing ever gets versioned, packaged, and shipped. Polyrepos are workable, the way to do it is to actually version, ship, and document every subcomponent. When I mean ship, I really mean ship, as i

E2EE on Instagram was never real, trustable E2EE. No open-source client, no way to verify that private key is never sent to server, and encryption of a key with a low-entropy PIN is effectively plaintext.

Most companies in production are inventing their own purpose-built systems and not open-sourcing them. High speed control loops usually use some form of real-time OS, AI-forward robots are starting to use fused CUDA kernels.

Not have to "build" anything. You edit code and it is already deployed on your dev instance. Deploying to production is just scp -rv * production:/var/www/ Beautifully simple. No npm build crap.
