There is also that I have different expectations for different types of work relationships. I don't want a manager pinging me 7 times a day with questions. But I am OK with a coworker messaging me 15 times about their progress on somet

I mean, this should just be the worldwide default. We should not be normalizing a culture of working outside of working hours.

It looks like this repo is is a rewrite of an earlier "scmpoo.exe" that roamed the internet in the mid-1990s. That was fun to set up on school computers to automatically launch at random times.

So we need a new flag for gcc that writes zeros to any block of allocated memory before malloc returns, not a new language.

How is C not memory safe? If I access memory I didn't allocate the OS shuts the program down. Is that not memory safety? (Unless you're running it on bare metal ...)

Why are C and C++ all of a sudden unsafe? Did I miss something? What is safe now? JavaScript? PyTorch?

OK, it's confusing, I had seen some other information that suggested app registration was necessary. It seems that it's only necessary if you want to track your journeys which makes sense.

Yeah that's a stupid system and I've seen it in many places. Being asked to go to <some random convenience store> to get the official public transit card, even the dude at the station couldn't sell me one. The vending m

I believe Singapore's public transit does support tapping a credit card directly at the gates now, but there's an annoying step of having to register your card in advance on an app before it actually works. My guess is this might

I just really wish Raspberry Pi would come out with a truly HQ camera with a full frame 35mm sensor, or at least an APS-C sensor. I'd pay $1000-1500 for it, just to have something as good as a full frame camera but programmable and hac

Honest question: Was the $2M figure advertised in advance? Where does one go about discovering bug bounties of this size? It seems like it might be worth the gamble of taking 3-6 months off work to discover a bug of that size.
