I'm right with you. This stuff was exciting like ~5 years ago. I did several projects with Firebase functions as well as Lambda. Randomly on a few of my projects, the functions don't work anymore. Although I haven't touch

Yea it's funny how it worked out. I felt similar. I was chasing the latest trends, frontend frameworks, databases. They weren't, and now we're back where we started with sending data from the server and submitting forms. I&

Yea, React is moving to the server. Check out Remix, which pushes the more "old school" approach of doing forms. I think Next is coming soon with something for that.

You might not keep up with things on Twitter, but SPAs are out. It's really a relic of an older time.

This is a misnomer though. Your body will not make the fever too high in the case of fighting a virus, so danger is low. From an evolutionary standpoint this would make no sense. For a bacterial infection I think the chance of going to t

We could have solved energy in the 50's. We probably deserve to die. Good luck.

An OBGYN isn't a scientist. Move to "solids" is such a weird thing to say. Once you're off breast milk / formula you just go to whatever. The pureed food has to be one of the biggest scams in human history and le

But the general public knows very little about aviation technology unforunately.

Yea probably. I think people overestimate what these cars can do. I wouldn't want to test it, but after being into this stuff for a while it probably would. Longitudinal control is radar based in mainstream ACC, but I know for a fac

Yes, that's the problem. Autopilot was named Autopilot which is just ACC. Full self driving is level 2 self driving. FSD should be renamed to Autopilot and Autopilot just take on another name or just ACC.

Are we publishing a story every-time someone gets in an accident with adaptive cruise control? It would be hard to buy a car in 2023 that didn't have adaptive cruise control with lane assist, which is all autopilot is.

Super-snappy for who? You? with a $4000 Mac Book Pro? Even with 6x CPU slowdown in Chrome, that's not enough throttling for these modern computers to test with.

Anytime the media gets focused on unimportant things like this, I'm looking to see what the actual news is? Is it the Ohio train thing? Covid treatment stuff? Who knows?

Yet, the simple mention of aspiration meant you were conspiracy theorist. So we can't even have the simple conversations, much less the difficult ones.

I think they were saying from a statistics standpoint not a one off anecdote. You can find these stories with the the flu too. Any virus you get from a toddler to your 20's to your 70's is no joke and should be taken seriously.

Yea, that's been my experience. Incredibly frustrating. Pre Covid, people at work would put on Slack they "had the flu they can't work today". Or "I had the flu this weekend". What they don't know is i

If that's your experience with it, then it sounds like a success and I'll concede that. My experience is: devops is introduced to 2 orgs I was at (much smaller dev teams) to save money. Even though hiring devops negates any savin

Easier to deploy for the developers is better for the organization. The dev team should own this process since they are the ones that probably have to support it. Objectively, deploying on any of the more managed AWS services, App Runner,

We've been using the excuse that the internet "turned off" for now. It does actually happen around here, because I guess running an ISP in 2022 is harder than in 1999? Anyway, my son is 7 and that probably won't work to

A guy I worked with told me this advice and I wish I listened. We still had a kid early relatively to my other friends, I was 29 and wife was 27. It's better to be chasing around young kids when your 24 vs 34 I'll tell you that.
