I'll agree with that - I have a board that I built with Clear-minded Pandas (basically the same thing, but a Halo Clear stem instead of a Halo True), and it is so amazingly satisfying as a tactile board. Like you said - basically zero

My understanding from listening to employees on podcasts and such was that GitHub had a lot of technical debt (old Rails versions, hacks on old Rails versions to get features in newer Rails versions, etc) that they were whittling down going

I'm vacillating between using Drafts and nvAlt. I like nvAlt because it's plaintext, but it's not as readily available as Drafts - I haven't found a mobile client that I like for working with plaintext yet.

I do. It's rather minimal, but I like it. I use a Rhodia Goalbook, which has numbered pages and a nice month/day view in the front. I can jot down events on specific days, or I can do more longform stuff on the regular pages. I&#x

It's a lot harder to demonstrate how the value added by improving stability. Like, what's the difference between 99.93% availability and 99.95% availability? How do you show that increasing test coverage by 5% helps users and brin

With regards to your second question, I think the preference to selling a minority stake over taking out a loan is that the loan is debt, the minority stake is not. A lot of what DHH is arguing for here was only possible for 37Signals/

Without a doubt, half the reason I use a 40% keyboard is how it looks. I feel that the ergonomics argument is not fully thought out, as holding down a modifier to access other layers can actually reduce ergonomics if you haven't set up

And from the look of it, EVERYTHING is there. So far only a couple of things I haven't been able to find, which were either super-niche (an old Christmas sing-along video I watched as a kid), or Song of the South.

The only reason I like writing tests before code-complete is that I feel less likely to write my tests to the code. But really, that just amounts to defining the functionality of the app beforehand, but by way of unit/system tests rath

I have this on an old iPod Video - easily the best media player I've ever had. I think this was my first exposure to the idea of running non-Apple firmware on Apple devices (loathe to call it a jailbreak, but it feels sorta like one).
