So how do we fix that? I get Covid was a mess in real time and it was used as a political pawn, which really sucks. Trillions of dollars went into the US economy, and most of the country feels broke. I don’t care how the market did, fuck th

My only two thoughts there are, China needs to fill that 15% gap, and I don’t know where they’ll do it. China also doesn’t want to sell too many treasuries least it upset their own financial stability in terms of purchasing power for their

I hear you, and that's a fair point. I just can't reconcile how trillions of dollars came into the economy and over the past few years there were mostly massive layoffs, poor-to-mediocre hiring, stagnant wages, and massive inflati

Didn't basically everything go up but wages? So we inflated the cost of things by what, 15% or more over the past few years, wages didn't follow. All the savings and free money people had are gone now, it took a while. I don'

Objectively, it hasn't. The market went nuts right after the election, and tariff day was less than a month ago. I don't have any fait in the current economic policy, but the Q1 numbers don't reflect Q1 as much as they do &#x

Objectively, the Q1 numbers probably actually reflect the Q3/Q4 2024 state of things, just like the Q2/Q3 numbers will more represent the actual Q1 2025 numbers. It feels like this was the natural progression of stuffing trillions

I have been under the impression that China has been lying about their GDP for years and years, I thought this was commonly known. I have also been under the impression, for years and years, that it isn't a good idea to speak ill of th

I'd rather solve that problem than the tariff thing. I was thinking just this morning about the bull-whip effect that never came.

A and B passed along the tariff costs to C, which passed those costs to D. D now costs more, assuming they pass the delta cost to the consumer. The only delta a customer cares about is the past/current cost of D, which is what amazon w

I think the correct answer in terms of mental health is: as little time as possible. The actual answer is more complicated. Someone who got locked up for 25 years knowingly committing a significant crime might regret it for the majority of

I have the same result. My only thought was: if my employer paid me for 2 weeks (10 days) of work and this is what popped out the other end, I would be looking for a new employer, this isn’t acceptable where I work.

I believe US farmers export 20% internationally. And most of the farmers I know have told me only a small handful of farmers are in that group of exporters, the biggest players. The "little guy" will be fine.

I didn't mention impacted, I said important. Is it a bad thing if those giant tech companies come back down to earth? I would argue no. They do not provide value, they extract it, generally, and play shitty games with taxes. What good

I don't understand why this is important. Maybe if you run an international business? So like, 0.01% of citizens? I actually kind of like that the US is no longer being put on a pedestal. Let someone else have a turn. See how they do,
